The GBH ride for July is to sunny France. We will be travelling across by Eurotunnel and then heading south, via the coastal roads to Le Touquet for lunch. Mileage to Eurotunnel is approx. 90 miles so we will be setting off at 7:00am from South Mimms Services, taking the 9:20 train from Folkestone to Calais. We will ride approx. 50 miles along the coast road, stopping for coffee and onto Le Touquet for some lunch.
The return ride will be scheduled to arrive back in time for the 18:20 train in Calais so we will be back in the UK by 6:00pm local time. The ride back to South Mimms should be completed in daylight and by 8:00pm. The current cost of the Eurotunnel is £28 so if you are keen to come on the ride, please let Jim O'Brien know and book yourself a ticket. Please also think about arranging European insurance and breakdown cover. The maximum number of participants for the ride is 12 so please let Jim know ASAP if you plan to come. Jim can be contacted on jimobrien3@aol.com or on 07954 169407 Ride Leader:- Jim Obrien TEC:- Jon Moseling PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CONSIDER THE PRE-RIDE BRIEFING TO BE VERY IMPORTANT. IF YOU ARE NOT THERE TO HEAR IT YOU MAY NOT BE PERMITTED TO JOIN THE RIDE. Please also note that we recommend that everyone carries a "Glovebox Atlas", or similar, so that should you wish to leave the ride early, or somehow become detached from the group then you can find your way to the the next stop or home. |
